The Sword Frog is a simple device used instead of a sheath. It is a much less expensive option than a full sheath. It can be used with just about any belt. It has a very low profile that can can be left on the belt during times when wearing the sword is undesirable. Just pull the sword out, leave the frog on your belt, and go about your business. Then when duty calls grab the sword and slide it into the frog already on your belt and go. This is easier than removing a sword belt with the sheath attached. When the sword is drawn out it has a nice metalic ringing sound because of the rubbing against the metal on the frog.
"Frog" is a historical term that applies to any type of strap used on a belt or shoulder strap that holds a sword or sheath. If your sword was purchased on a different order please let us know the type that you have to ensure that the metal ring will be the proper size for your sword. |
